The Hydraforce 5040182 (5040182) is a solenoid-operated, 3-port, normally open, poppet-type, screw-in hydraulic cartridge valve. This valve is specifically designed to serve as a load holding or blocking valve in systems where low internal leakage is critical. The operation of the 5040182 is straightforward: when de-energized, it allows hydraulic flow from port 1 to port 2 and from port 2 to port 3. Upon energization, the valve shifts to block flow from port 1 to port 2, while allowing flow from port 2 to port 3 after overcoming the solenoid force. It includes an integral position sensor that provides real-time feedback on the valve's status, whether shifted or not.
