The Sun Hydraulics RSDCKDN (RSDCKDN) is a pilot-operated, balanced piston sequence valve designed to supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at the inlet port 1 surpasses the valve setting. This valve effectively controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the drain port 3, remaining insensitive to back pressure at port 2 up to the valve setting. It can regulate pressure in place of two-port relief valves when there's pressure in the return line. Notably, all three-port sequence cartridges are interchangeable, ensuring compatibility across similar frame sizes. The pilot flow increases as inlet pressure rises above the valve setting, and a 150-micron stainless steel screen protects the main stage orifice. The maximum allowable pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting and should not exceed 5000 psi (350 bar). However, this model is not suitable for load-holding applications due to potential spool leakage. The RSDCKDN offers W and Y control options that can be adjusted throughout their full range unless a special setting is specified. Corrosion-resistant versions are available with external stainless steel or zinc-nickel plated components for use in harsh environments. This model incorporates Sun's floating style construction to prevent internal part binding due to excessive torque or machining variations. It features a cavity type T-11A with a flow capacity of 15 gpm (60 L/min) and withstands maximum operating pressures of up to 5000 psi (350 bar). The control pilot flow ranges from 7-10 in\u00b3/min (0.11-0.16 L/min), with typical response times of about 10 ms and maximum leakage rates of 2 in\u00b3/min (30 cc/min) at 110 SUS (24 cSt).

Pilot-operated, balanced piston sequence valves will supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at the inlet (port 1) has exceeded the valve setting. The pressure setting of a sequence valve controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the pressure at the drain (port 3). These valves are insensitive to back pressure at port 2 (sequence), up to the valve setting. They may be used to regulate pressure in place of 2-port relief valves if there is pressure in the return line.

  • All 3 port sequence cartridges are physically and functionally interchangeable (i.e. same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size).
  • Pilot flow continues to increase as the pressure at port 1 (inlet), relative to the pressure at port 3 (drain), rises above the valve setting.
