The Sun Hydraulics RPGELCV (Material Number: RPGELCV) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. This normally closed, pressure-limiting valve quickly opens and closes to manage pressure spikes, although this speed comes at the cost of smooth operation. When the inlet port 1 reaches the designated pressure setting, the valve opens to tank port 2, throttling flow to limit further pressure increase. It offers low pressure rise versus flow and rapid response times with typical response time around 2 milliseconds. The RPGELCV is interchangeable with other 2-port relief cartridges of the same frame size and flow path and can handle a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). This cartridge is suitable for use in cross-port relief circuits but not recommended for load-holding applications due to spool leakage. The main stage orifice is safeguarded by a 150-micron stainless steel screen, ensuring durability and reliability. Backpressure on tank port 2 directly adds to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio.
