The Sun Hydraulics NFEDLHN (Material Number: NFEDLHN) is a versatile needle valve designed for precise flow regulation. This fully adjustable orifice allows for infinite adjustment from fully closed to the maximum orifice diameter, making it suitable for use as both a flow control and a shutoff valve. Although not pressure compensated, it can effectively manage flow in proportion to the square root of the pressure differential across ports 1 and 2. The valve features a balanced adjustment mechanism that ensures ease of operation even under high pressures, while its sharp-edged orifice design reduces flow variations due to changes in fluid viscosity. The bidirectional flow path is optimized for interchangeability with other flow controls, with the recommended direction being port 1 to 2. When the adjustment mechanism is set to the shutoff position, the valve guarantees zero leakage. The NFEDLHN is configured with EPDM seals, suitable for systems using phosphate ester fluids; however, exposure to petroleum-based fluids can damage these seals. Needle valves are fully adjustable orifices used to regulate flow. They are infinitely adjustable from fully closed up to the maximum orifice diameter. They are not pressure compensated and may be used as flow controls or as shutoff valves.
